My name’s Fran. I live in Canberra with my Significant Other (SO), my 11 year old daughter (Tween – light of my life) and 3 year old son (my bestest Buddy), 6 chooks – Petunia, Hermione, Ellie, Rosie, Barley and Little Ninja. We have a vegie garden, a herb garden and a fruit patch in progress. The girls occasionally give us eggs, and the vegetation takes a lot and more often than not gives back a little. I’m not a gourmet, organic gardener, I have a lot of misses and sometimes completely forget I even have my own little patch. I’ve really only been doing this green thumb thing for 2 years, but it’s fun and get’s me off the internet. We’re soon to be duck owners, Tween is so very excited!
I decided to start my own blog after being addicted to other food writer and restaurant reviewer blogs, but finding little in common with them. Quite frankly, I usually have little time and little money to do the things and go to the places they’re often visiting, so thought I’d do it my own way. I’m hoping to open up the view that living in Canberra with my young family, working full time, and enjoying life is achievable on a very, very, very tight budget 🙂
That, and I’m a major foodie, and spend most of my time either cooking, eating or thinking about cooking and eating and love to share it all with friends and family.

Hiya, yes, I was on Twitter @thefoodmarshall but for some unknown reason they suspended my account? Brand new user who doesn’t even know how to use Twitter properly, let alone improperly! I’ve tried to get it re-activated but that takes a few days apparently.
I’m good on Facebook and blogging, not so good on the others. Yet.
